I understand that this is a emergency clinic, but it would be nice to get an update on why me and my dog have been waiting for over 2 hours. After complaining to figure out what's up with the wait time I'm still here waiting. I waited outside in the lobby for an hour and now I've been waiting inside the room for more than another hour. I got here at 250pm and it's already 5:00pm. We will never forget our loving dog or the caring people at BluePearl.īrought my yorkie in to get checked up since she threw up blood this afternoon. We were there when the best dog in our life closed her eyes and stopped hurting. His explanations and conversation made us feel certain we were doing the right thing. He was terrific and went over everything with us and options and choices and prognoses. The staff had the doctor come in and talk with us. My wife, hoping against hope, asked if we were doing the right thing. When we arrived we were quickly taken into a room and several members of the staff were very helpful and supportive. It was Labor Day week-end and BluePearl was the only place within 100 miles of the OBX that was open. Unfortunately, during the trip it was clear that she was in distress and bring her had been a mistake. She had perked up a little so we decided to take her with us for our son’s wedding on the OXB and see her best buddy one more time. We had a 10 year old Golden that had become lethargic and not eating and was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen and internal bleeding. We would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. Even if our baby had died, my husband and I both agree that this was the best place for her. My yorkie has a collapsed trachea, come to find out, but we left the hospital feeling confident about her condition, the treatment, and the medication we were given for any future breathing issues. Knowing my baby was at least comfortable was the best reassurance at that time during the chaos.
I felt they were responsive and fast-acting, and they also reassured me that she was breathing well under the treatment and not in any pain. The staff immediately took her back as soon as we arrived and quickly administered meds to help open her airway. And the staff even tended to me after I tripped and fell, was bleeding pretty bad, and suffered a panic attack. The level of care was absolutely incredible. We drove 2 hours to get to this hospital, and I couldn't be more thrilled. It was on a Sunday, so there were no hospitals open where we were staying. We were vacationing in the Outer Banks when my small yorkie went into severe respiratory distress. they told me if she had been seen right away the eye should have been able to have been saved. I eventually left when the sun came up and went to another vet who took her back and had to remove her eye. everytime I asked to be seen, i was told to keep waiting. they did immediately take her back, but then brought her back to me with a cup on her eye, and then left me in the waiting room for 12 hrs. I'm grateful for those who work late hours to help resolve our animal's issues. The Veterinarian's took good care of my dog overnight and helped resolve the emergency he was having. Everyone was very helpful in making sure I understood what was going on with my dog and what was needed to be done next. The wait time was not too bad (45 minutes) which was ok as my dog was not in need of immediate triage services. I cannot recommend their services enough, and am so grateful to BluePearl for easing my kitty's last day.I had a very positive experience at Blue Pearl when I had to take my dog there for an emergency. It's never easy, it was the worst decision to make, but if I didn't have the supportive staff there with me I don't know how we would have made it through.
When we heard the worst news possible, that my kitty wasn't going to be able to breathe without oxygen and that she had a mass on her lung, and we had to make the tough decision to end her suffering, the staff was EXCEEDINGLY KIND and thoughtful, giving us time to say goodbye and never pressuring us from one decision to another, just presented all the information available for her situation. Once we got there they got us checked in and in a room immediately while getting my Addie taken care of, and ran through the procedures and cost expectations of the services before they went through with them, which I greatly appreciate. I spoke with Taryn on the phone, letting her know my 15 year old kitty wasn't doing well, and she was understanding and so very kind as she told us to bring my sweet girl in. Taryn and the staff at BluePearl are exceptional and forever have my gratitude.
